💡How can physio help?

Physiotherapist can offer various treatment options to reduce the symptoms of Carpal tunnel syndrome including:

✅ We can educate and advice you on what the condition is and what the aggravating factors are. We also explain what you can do to help yourself to improve the situation.

✅ Applying Manual therapy such as massage may help to relax soft tissue that could be applying pressure on the nerve.

✅ Provide you with a brace or splint to help offload or destress the nerve. This is commonly worn at night.

✅ Neuromobilisation – Over time the compression on the nerve can lead to inflammation and scar tissue. Incorporating nerve mobility exercises will help to free up the nerve as it travels through the tunnel in the wrist.

✅ Most patients respond well to conservative treatment however some may require a more invasive approach such as a cortisone injection or surgery.
