How long do injuries take to heal?
💡 Our bodies have biological healing time frames that unfortunately cannot be rushed.
✅ There are four phases of healing that injured tissues go through.
1️⃣ Hemostasis: bleeding begins immediately, generally resolves in 6-8 hours, but highly vascular tissues can bleed 1-2 days.
2️⃣ Inflammatory: begins within hours of injury – lasts several days.
3️⃣ Proliferation: begins within 24-48 hours after injury, reaches peak at 2-3 weeks, continues for several months.
4️⃣ Remodeling: starts several days after injury, can last for 1 year or more.

✅ Exercise Muscle Soreness: 0-3 days
✅ Muscle strain:
➡️ Grade 1 = 0 – 2 weeks

➡️ Grade 3 = 3 weeks – 6 months
✅ Ligament Strain:
➡️ Grade 1 = 0 – 3 days
➡️ Grade 2 = 3 weeks – 6 months
➡️ Grade 3 = 5 weeks – 1 year
✅ Tendon:
➡️ Tendinitis = 3 – 7 weeks
➡️ Tendinosis = 3 months – 6 months
➡️ Laceration = 5 weeks – 6 months
